The first-ever gala of the ‘Kasaars!’ of course didn’t miss the start. The spectacle was broadcast on One, VTM and Play4 and reached a total of 1,449,306 viewers. The three broadcasting groups had previously decided not to publish separate audience figures for the gala.
In any case, Flanders was clearly ready for the “Kastaars!”. Entertaining an average of 1.4 million Flemish people on a Saturday night is a feat. For comparison: a week earlier, around 950,000 Flemings watched the three major channels. “De Zonen van Van As” attracted 316,000 viewers at the time, “The Golden K Gala” attracted 446,000 fans and the weekly review of “Big Brother” on Play4 attracted 188,000 viewers.
Normal viewing behavior returned to its traditional fold on Sunday. The winner of the evening was again “The Story of Flanders” with 1,176,000 viewers. The second episode of “1985” reached 829,000 viewers. “De Verhulstjes” continued to score on Play4 with 468,000 fans, Jan Jaap van der Wal’s evening show fell to 180,000 viewers.
