Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to Russia next week. On Monday, he will arrive in Moscow for a three-day visit, the Kremlin and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China inform. Xi will have lunch with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday. It will be an informal meeting between the two leaders. They will meet again on Tuesday during the so-called negotiations.
One of the topics that Xi Jinping talks about with his Russian counterpart is the war in Ukraine. China says it is neutral and wants to mediate. Xi called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after his visit to Putin. The People’s Republic has not imposed sanctions against Russia and benefits from growing trade between the two states. According to the Russian mass media, Beijing and Moscow talk, among other things, about “deepening strategic cooperation”.
The West fears that China will also supply Russia with weapons. Putin says the West is attacking his country in a “sanctions war.”
