1/8 Final CEV Challenge Cup: Asterix Avo – Aris Thessaloniki 3:1 (25:10, 25:14, 20:25, 25:23)
Asterix Avo has reached the quarterfinals of the CEV Challenge Cup. Coach Vansnick’s team will face Romanian CSM Lugoj in the next round of this European Cup. Already in the opening sentence the guests had to request their second time-out at 14-9. Unpacking the signal for Captain Stragier – just like in Greece – with a devastating streak of service. In the second set, the guest coach brought his Colombian asset Montano into the team 16:8, but by then the Greek calf had already drowned. Asterix Avo’s block was very strong. After this second partial victory, qualification was in and young players got their chance. (WVM)
