In order to contain the damage to the image after the Qatargate, the European Parliament is introducing a series of new measures. “But even a more extensive lobby register does not rule out corruption,” writes political journalist Astrid Roelandt: “Anyone with bad intentions – and that applies to all professional groups – will always find a loophole.”
