The Vatican has already started canceling meetings. Observers in Rome said it was highly unusual to schedule large-scale investigations just before Easter.
The Pope has been in power for ten years this month. This morning, Francis held his weekly general audience for thousands of faithful in St. Peter’s Square.
In July 2021, the Argentine Pope underwent intestinal surgery at Gemelli Hospital. In a recent interview, he noted that his intestines are bothering him again. He also suffers from a serious knee problem which means he is now mostly in a wheelchair.
