The deal was finalized today on Transfer Deadline Day, UK sources confirm. The Jupiler Pro League leaders lose a key weapon in the title fight with 16 goals in 19 games with Onuachus.
“You never know what’s going to happen,” Vrancken said at his press conference this morning. “But I live very much in the here and now. Paul showed this morning that he likes being here, but I’m not so naive as to think that nothing can happen today. An exciting day? I’m not looking too far ahead. Paul has been very involved in the pre-match for Eupen and I’m counting on him tomorrow. There is nothing wrong with his attitude.”
Onuachu was under contract in Genk until the summer of 2024. He’s been linked with a transfer in almost every transfer window in recent years, but it never materialized for various reasons.
