A 35-year-old man fell from a cruise ship off the coast of Florida. The coast guard is looking for the man.
A passenger fell from the Carnival Magic about 180 miles east of Jacksonville on Monday, the Coast Guard said. Planes and ships are used in the search.
The man’s companion reported him missing late Monday afternoon. Surveillance cameras from the ship show that the man “leaned over the railing of the balcony and fell into the water” around 4 am.
Cruise operator Carnival says the ship’s captain has been ordered to return to port in Norfolk, Virginia. The ship can accommodate almost 4,000 guests and is approximately 300 meters long.
