The first bicycle monument of the year 2023 is undergoing a significant change. Milan-Sanremo will no longer start from Milan this year. The start of La Primavera will be shifted to Abbiategrasso, a town of around 50,000 people about 25 kilometers west of Milan.
Whether the relocation of the starting point will also affect the number of kilometers (approx. 300 km) and for how many years the relocation will be fixed will only be announced in the coming days, as will the reason for the relocation. But on March 18 Abbiategrasso-Sanremo will be driven for the first time.
