Marc Brys has hired a new assistant following the departure of T2 Issame Charai. Sven Swinnen starts working at his OH Leuven. Thus ended for Swinen his more than 30 years at KV Mechelen.

It was an emotional moment when Mark Bryce had to say goodbye to his permanent assistant Charai the day before the World Cup. But the OHL trainer has a new T2 with Sven Swinnen to start the return round.

Swinnen started out with KV Mechelen in the youth team and later as part of the first team’s technical staff. He intervened several times as head coach, including when Wouter Vrancken was ill during his 2020 OHL game against him.

Swinnen recently started working as head coach for Helmond Sport in the Netherlands, but returned to Mechelen after six months. Now he chooses Ruben and immediately gets to work.

OHL will resume training today after a short winter break.
