The first bicycle monument of the year 2023 is undergoing a significant change. Milan-Sanremo will no longer start from Milan this year. The start of La Primavera will be shifted to Abbiategrasso, a town of around 50,000 people about 25 kilometers west of Milan.
The new starting place changes little on the route. Thirty kilometers after the start, the peloton returns to the classic course. The distance also remains almost the same: 294 kilometers compared to 299 kilometers in the previous year. In the finale, Cipressa and Poggio remain the executioners.
