The US actress Brooke Shields (57) was raped at the beginning of her career. She tells so in Pretty Baby, a new documentary that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in the United States. “It was like a fight,” it sounds, among other things.
The former top model did not provide any information on the identity of the perpetrator. However, she stated that it was not an unknown person. Shields had met the man in question shortly after she graduated. A little later he invited her. The actress herself considered it a business discussion about participating in a casting for a new film. Finally, the man brought her back to her hotel. There he would have raped her. “It was like a struggle…I was afraid I was going to choke,” the American actress recalls well. She goes on to say that she is petrified.

After the attack, she called a friend. The latter told her that she had just been raped. Something Shields found hard to believe even at the time. The 57-year-old actress has never spoken publicly about the rape before. She does so for the first time in the documentary “Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields”. The film will be released in two parts on the Hulu streaming service.
The first part of the documentary focuses on the sexualization that Shields faced from an early age. For example, at the age of 10 she did a nude photo shoot and at 11 she played a child prostitute in the film “Pretty Baby”. The actress also revealed last year that she often received sexually-tinged questions in interviews during her teenage years. “She asked me a series of intimate and haunting questions about my sexual history. I was barely 15, Brooke said on the weekly Armchair Expert podcast. According to Shields, the fact that the documentary is just about to be released has everything to do with timing. The actress said it was “the right time in (her) life” to star in a documentary.
