Volcano eruption in Iceland? Almost 3,000 earthquakes in 48 hours

Another volcanic eruption imminent in Iceland? Scientists are asking that question now that the Reykjanes Peninsula has been trembling continuously since July 4, 2023. As of this writing, more than 2,800 earthquakes have been recorded on the Icelandic peninsula in the past 48 hours. The activity takes place mainly between the Fagradalsfjall and Keilir volcanoes.
