The day started mostly dry with occasional sunshine. Wind gusts of up to 70 km/h are possible in many places, reports the RMI. In Flanders, with the exception of Flemish Brabant and the coast code, yellow for wind applies until 9 p.m. tonight. But we shouldn’t worry about Storm Poly, says VTM weatherman David Dehenauw.
In West Flanders, East Flanders, Antwerp and Limburg, the yellow code continues to apply until 9 p.m. The heaviest showers and/or thunderstorms can cause gusts of wind with speeds of up to 70 km/h.
We don’t have to worry that the storm in the Netherlands is still coming. “The storm passed us last night but then built up and we knew it would not reach full maturity until the northern half of the Netherlands,” says our weatherman David Dehenauw.
Last night a tornado caused some damage in Kalken in East Flanders. An entire summer house was destroyed, as was a conservatory.
